simoneink Media Relations - Administrative Assistant
simoneink is a small boutique public relations firm specializing in promoting luxury hotels and restaurants. We are seeking a full-time media relations assistant to join our busy team. Responsibilities are administrative in nature, but are critical to the success of the firm. Learning and growth opportunities exist over time for hard-working individual who shows great initiative.
Primary job duty is to prepare monthly and quarterly reports of press coverage and activities undertaken on clients’ behalf, support of our President, Media Relations Director, Associates, and such. Accuracy and thoroughness in the execution of these reports cannot be overstated.
Requirements for applicants include:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Experience navigating relevant industry software [Cision, Muck Rack, etc.]
Extensive knowledge of relevant media outlets within the hospitality field [Spirits, Travel, Food/Restaurants, Lifestyle]
Familiarity with managing social media accounts and utilizing relevant tracking platforms [Hootsuite]
Additional responsibilities include:
Tracking anticipated coverage of clients;
Ordering magazines and newspapers;
Assembling press kits;
Maintaining contact information for journalists;
Frequent formal correspondence;
Filing and Scanning;
Answering phones;
Media research [experience required]
and other duties as assigned.
Successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, and must be able to work at a fast-pace and juggle multiple priorities to meet regular, competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy. Please have Bachelor’s degree and at least 1-2 years of office experience.
Office located in residential area, not metro accessible.
