Gastro-giving and sipping at the award-winning gastropub, Cured, in San Antonio
If you can’t get to Munich for the famous Oktoberfest, head to cancer survivor and celebrated chef Steve McHugh’s progressive gastropub Cured in San Antonio, TX for OktoberBreast: a month-long fundraiser to fight breast cancer. McHugh, who knows all too well the importance of cancer organizations in patient care, has selected American Cancer Society [ACS] as the beneficiary.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, McHugh will be pouring special pink-hued “Booze for Boobs” hop-tails made of fresh Raspberry Syrup, local Cinco Vodka, Aperol and Luxardo Amaretto combined with San Antonio’s own Purple Rhine Sour beer by Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling. One dollar from every Booze for Boobs drink ordered throughout October will go directly to ACS to fund research, treatment and patient care for breast cancer as well as myriad other types, including non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a blood cancer that McHugh is proud to be cured of to this day.
In lieu of the usual beer stein, guests can grab a cool Collins glass of this pink-colored craft cocktail for $10 and clang glasses with a friend to the cause. Enhanced by the tarty piquancy of the drink, you can also pair it with a signature Charcuterie Board for a total of $2 going to ACS – Cured’s gastro-giving charity of choice all quarter through its regular “Charc” Board donations.
Stay abreast on this important event at Cured, where chef Steve McHugh continues his bidding to support and help others, like him, become cured.
